The Patch

Praxis Artspace

5–27 MAY 2022

This body of work is developed from the Bush for Life site in the Park Lands Project. I would like to credit the Park Lands Project team: Jacqui Hunter Hunter Gatherings, Jill Woodlands Nature Conservation Council of SA and Nature Festival, Paul Gazzola from OSCA (Open Space Contemporary Arts) and Natasha Davis Trees for Life.

The Patch is a new body of work by artist Rosina Possingham, combining 3D scanning technology with the alternative analogue printing process: cyanotype.

Gathering imagery from Lefevre Park/Namtu Wama (Park 6), Possingham collages, scans, manipulates light and combines the images to produce scans and transparencies that she then uses to create cyanotypes on canvas and paper.

The results are layered images capturing a sense of experimentation and play, a nostalgia for childhood and a final work that combines the old and the new.
